Would you like to Kendix fabrics for a long time? Please take on this advice, to enjoy as long as possible your Kendix curtain and/or upholstery fabrics.
Give your upholstery fabric attention
Kendix believes in quality that lasts. That’s why we offer a number of tips to extend the life of your upholstery fabrics. So that you can enjoy our upholstery fabrics for a long time to come.

Never cut loops or remove them
Put them back into the tissue. Vacuum clean with a smooth nozzle & if possible brush with a soft furniture brush. -

Seams
Also keep the seams on your furniture dust & dirt free. -
Sunlight
Avoid direct sunlight. -
Clean furniture
Clean your furniture regularly, this will prolong the lifespan. -
Do not use detergents
these are often less suitable for furniture materials. -
Never use soap or detergent

Do not impregnate
Do not impregnate your Kendix upholstery fabric with dust and/or dirt preventing substance. This can affect the fiber and the good dirt preventing characteristics of wool. Also on synthetic compositions (for example Trevira CS), it is less suitable. The guarantee on the furniture fabric will expire completely. -
Recommendation maintenance products
Kendix recommends only maintenance and cleaning products from James or LCK/ Puratex (www.lcknederland.nl).
Curtains maintenance
Do not let the curtains get too dirty. Washing or chemical/dry cleaning gives better results lot let the curtains stay longer more beautiful. Always remove the hooks beforehand. These can damage the fabric & the laundry & cleaning equipment.
Larger curtains can not generally be washed in a washing machine. In the case of excessive filling of the washing machine, the curtains are exposed to too much friction & wrinkle formation. Wool curtains can only be cleaned chemically.
Maintenance & cleaning of our furniture extends lifespan
Kendix fabrics are excellent to be cleaning. The use of good cleaning products in the correct way are important. You can always call in the help of a professional cleaner.
Weekly maintenance of upholstery fabrics
Weekly maintenance has effect that dust & fiber particles can not accumulate or stick to the fabric. It is important to vacuum your furniture with a smooth attachment, also between & under seat cushions. (Note watch out for a sharp edge at the end of the suction rod itself.) The purpose of proper vacuuming is to remove dirt particles, dust & sand (with an easy sanding motion in & around seams!).
Periodic maintenance
With regard to periodic maintenance, the biggest problem is the accumulation of skin fats. These are found particularly on the armrests, headrest and seat area. A gray or greasy spot can become visible over time. Skin grease can be excellently removed by applying James Water. (see www.james.eu). Spray James Water on a dry terry cloth and rub the soiled areas with it in calm, long strokes. With regard to the use of LCK-Puratex, weekly maintenance is recommended with a special cleaning glove, possibly in combination with a few drops of Puratex cleaning water. Spot removal
In case of stains, we initially recommend using only water with a towel. Wet the towel thoroughly with lukewarm water and wring it out. Lay over the stain and let the towel dry without lifting it in between (may take up to 24 hours). Large portions of the stain will be absorbed into the cotton fiber as the towel dries. Any residual stain can be post-treated with James stain water or James stain remover. When using LCK-Puratex, do not use a wet towel, but dab with uncolored kitchen paper as a first step. In case of water soluble stains, apply Puratex Strong cleaner, in case of grease stains use Puratex degreaser.
All Kendix fabric qualities have been tested for the use of LCK-Puratex as well as James products and can be found on their respective websites.
